Meet Our Director of Development
Trenton joined 5by5 in 2021. He leads our team of developers. If you decide it's time to do some website work, you will have the pleasure of actually meeting Trenton.
What are your primary responsibilities?
I ensure projects are headed in the right direction, on time and within budget. I focus on client experience and excellence. It’s my goal to deliver a website that is going to wow the client.
What does your team look like?
Our development team is made up of senior, mid and junior developers. Each developer has different specialties from front end development with parallax and other features or building Shopify sites to tacking complex integrations like Blackbaud and Marketo.
What might a work day look like for you?
Everyday I'm checking in with our team on where projects are and helping move the ball forward. We want to close out each day knowing we made progress for our clients.
Otherwise, my calendar is a mix of client immersion meetings, presenting wireframes or designs, walking through pre-launch checklists, technical workflow conversations, launching new websites, site structure beta calls, etc.
As a leader, I'm helping my team focus on the right priorities, getting them all the pieces they need, and removing roadblocks.
What were you doing before this?
I was at an agency in Missouri doing more project management for web builds.
What drew you to 5by5?
5by5 came highly recommended and upon closer inspection I definitely connected with the values. Then, in the interview process I could tell they were the real deal and it would be a good fit for me.
What’s one thing we would not guess about childhood Trenton?
I used to be really quiet and reserved. I was kind of a shy kid.
What’s one thing you are trying to learn right now?
In my personal life, I am trying to learn to road bike. Professionally, I am trying to learn how our development team can integrate with our services team more.
Who is a change maker that is inspiring you right now?
Craig Groeschel out of Life.Church is inspiring me to lead with both passion and excellence. Finding the balance can be tricky.
